Tools that analysts actually use
A structured webinar program covering real-world financial analysis software — from data modelling in Excel to advanced platforms used across institutional research desks.
What the six weeks cover
Spreadsheet Modelling
Financial models built from scratch in Excel and Google Sheets. The focus is on structure discipline — separating inputs, calculations, and outputs so a model another analyst can audit.
- Three-statement model architecture
- Scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Dynamic chart output layers
- Named ranges and audit trails
Market Data Platforms
Hands-on orientation to data terminals and subscription tools — how to pull equity data, compare multiples across peers, and export structured datasets for further modelling.
- Screening and filtering equities
- Comparable company tables
- Historical price and volume data
- API-based data extraction basics
Valuation Methods and Reporting Tools
The final two modules examine how analysts communicate results — not just the numbers behind them. Discounted cash flow models, comparable analysis, and precedent transactions each carry different assumptions, and participants work through cases where those assumptions change the conclusion. Reporting tools including Tableau and Power BI are introduced in practical contexts: building dashboards for quarterly reviews, visualising segment performance, and presenting output to non-specialist audiences. Sessions include live screen-sharing so participants follow along with real data.
Valuation is an argument — learning to state the assumptions clearly matters as much as running the numbers.
Yael Brodeur
Yael has worked inside equity research teams at two mid-market investment banks. She leads the modelling modules and designs the case studies participants work through during live sessions — most drawn from actual coverage reports with identifying details changed.
Fiona Whitfield
Fiona focuses on the platform and data extraction sessions. Her background is in financial data engineering — she spent several years building internal tools for a portfolio analytics firm before moving into training. She covers the API modules and spreadsheet architecture segments.
Amara Stein
Amara leads valuation and reporting sessions. She currently works as an independent research consultant and brings her current practice directly into the classroom — showing participants the tools and workflows she uses on active projects, including dashboard builds in Power BI.
